Local company AAK needed us to carry out a refit of their offices and canteen, which are used by about 100 people.

AAK have the largest edible oil refinery in the UK, and supply goods to businesses in the food service, bakery and manufacturing industries.

We won the work after offering a competitively priced one-stop project management service, enabling AAK to focus on its core business, rather than having to get involved in the detail.

AAK agreed a design which had a light and open feel, punctuated with bright furniture, glazing, and modern ‘linear’ bays of desks.

David Claughton and his team ensured this project took place in phases – allowing AAK’s work to continue even as we carried out our work on site.

Les Bales is the HR manager for AAK, who oversaw the project. He said: “Claughtons handled the project in a way which allowed us to carry on our day-to-day operations – something which was crucial to our business.

“In a time when some businesses are cutting back, we still think it is hugely important to invest in our employees. We now have an outstanding workplace fit for the 21st century, which makes a tangible difference to the company – both in strengthening the morale of the staff, and in creating a great first impression for our visitors. The new offices have enabled us to be more efficient, and in terms of brand reinforce the vision and values which are the cornerstones of AAK’s identity.”
