Golf Day raises £10,000 for children’s charity
Skip to sub-navgiation ↓Dozens of golfers have helped raised more than £10,000 for the Smile Foundation in Hull.
Teeing off at the KP Club in Pocklington on Friday, July 20th, 27 teams made up of 108 competitors took part in the event organised by Claughtons Office Equipment Ltd and EYG Windows.
The Golf Day, which sold out within days of being announced, was held at the KP Club for the second year running.
The Golf Day once again proved to be a huge success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Together, more than £10,000 has been raised already and more money is still coming in.
Claughtons’ managing director Gerard Toplass would like to thank everyone who supported the event and wishes the Smile Foundation all the best for the future.
Starting with a champagne breakfast, the players donned their complimentary Ian Poulter clothing and teed off at lunchtime.
After 18-holes, and a playoff over 3 holes the Golf Day Champion was Mark Stuart from Lincs Electrical Wholesale.
The money raised will now go to the Smile Foundation. Established 2009, the foundation aims to change the lives of people in Hull and East Yorkshire by supporting different charities across the region.
The foundation is currently supporting three charities; The Hull Memory Clinic, which helps people who suffer from memory loss, Hornsea Inshore Rescue, an independently voluntary run inshore rescue which covers the majority of the Holderness coastline, and Sunshine House, which provides an invaluable nursing resource which ranges from respite care through to end of life care for children with life limiting illnesses, will all benefit.
